English school-based curriculum

School-based Support Service

Through the School-based Support Service, “Nurturing Self-directed Learners through Promoting Learning and Reading across the Curriculum,” students enhance their English proficiency across the curriculum. This cross-curricular framework cultivates learner autonomy, enabling students to monitor, evaluate and take ownership of their learning.

Curriculum & Innovative Learning

Space Town Programme (KS1)

The Space Town Programme develops students' literacy skills through engaging reading and language activities. Students strengthen their phonics, reading, listening and speaking skills while building confidence in using English.

Through the process-writing approach, students learn to plan, draft, edit and publish their work, helping them become confident and independent writers.

AI-supported Learning

Students use AI tools and innovative technologies to enrich their English learning. These experiences enhance language proficiency while fostering creativity, digital literacy and self-directed learning.

English Enrichment Activities (ECA)

Storytelling Workshop

Students receive coaching in storytelling techniques, voice projection and presentation skills. They represent the school in competitions such as the Once Upon A Book Storytelling Competition and the Story to Stage Puppetry Competition.

Presentation Workshop

Students develop public speaking and presentation skills through focused training. They apply their learning in authentic settings, including RTHK Activities in the Common Room and the 'Let Students Talk About Education' International Conference.

Cambridge English Courses

Students further develop their English proficiency through internationally recognised Cambridge English programmes, building confidence in communication and language use.

Communication, Leadership & Future Readiness

Choral Speaking

Students enhance their pronunciation, fluency, expression and teamwork through collaborative performances.

English Ambassadors

Students take on leadership roles by serving as hosts and presenters at school events, including the 'Sun' Shine Bonanza, developing confidence, communication and leadership skills.

P6 Mock Interview Training

Students develop interview techniques and communication skills, preparing for secondary school admission interviews.

Values & Cultural Learning

Sayings of Wisdom

Students explore positive values and attitudes through English reading, discussion and reflection activities.
